The day

Blue Lagoon, just outside Padangbai on Bali's east coast, is one of the easiest and most rewarding snorkel spots on the island — a sheltered bay with clear water, a healthy reef, and loads of fish in genuinely swimmable depth (no strong currents, no long boat ride). It's great for first-timers. You'll get two hours in the water with masks, fins, and a local boatman, then head over to Bali Safari & Marine Park for a family-friendly afternoon with elephants, tigers, orangutans, and the open-savannah jungle hopper.
